Notice: Reduced 2026 Schedule

Due to planned construction on the Glendon Hill Road Bridge, the National Canal Museum will operate on a shortened schedule this year. Our 2026 season will be open from Friday, March 27 through the end of May. Public canal boat rides will not be offered during the 2026 season.

Climb Aboard the Josiah White II for Pirate Day at the National Canal Museum

Ahoy Mateys! Join us at the National Canal Museum on Saturday, September 20 during regular museum hours for a swashbuckling adventure!

Come dressed in your best pirate costume and enjoy 50% off admission and canal boat. Free admission for DLNHC Members.

The Bachmann Players will be aboard the Josiah White II, serving alongside our boat crew as our resident pirates – watch out, or you might get recruited into their rowdy gang!

Attendees can enjoy pirate-themed crafts, follow a treasure map through the museum, and uncover hidden loot along the way. Even our trusty mules, Hank and George, will be joining the fun—donning their pirate personas for the day!

Pirate boat rides will set sail at 12 PM and 3 PM. Prefer a calmer voyage? The 1:30pm boat ride will be pirate free.
