As the winter weather begins to bear down on us, come on into the museum and learn what kids in the 1800s would have done with their time to keep themselves busy and brighten their homes during the season when the dark comes early. Our little woodland friends still need to eat in the winter, but finding food gets harder. Make a pine cone peanut butter bird feeder to take home or hang along the towpath. Is your house getting decorated for the holidays? Decorations were simpler and home made back when the canals operated. Come on out and make some decorations to brighten your home. We will be making a mule Christmas tree decoration, paper snowflakes and chains of paper angels and ginger bread men. All you need to bring is your creativity.
