National Canal Museum - Volunteering

Lend A Helping Hand

The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor and National Canal Museum welcome volunteers who share our mission of preserving the history and culture of 19th-century canal life and interpreting it to students, families and adults. We have a wide range of opportunities available.  Volunteers can become museum docents, greeters, gift shop clerks, field trip educators, interpreters at the locktender’s house, and/or program assistants for children’s activities at the museum. We also welcome volunteers who are interested in cataloguing and digitizing archival items, gardening, and those that have specialized skills like carpentry to help with exhibit enhancements and maintenance.

To learn more about volunteering at the National Canal Museum, contact Pam Thomas at visitorservice@nulldelawareandlehigh.org. You also can use our volunteering form to reach out to us.
