The National Canal Museum will present an exhibition of the works of folk artist Frank “WYSO” Wysochansky (1915-1994) from Saturday, June 1 through Sunday, July 28, 2019 with a special preview event on Passport to History Day (April 27, 2019).
Last year, the museum hosted works by WYSO that portrayed the coal-mining heritage of his native Northeast Pennsylvania. In a celebration of spring, this new exhibition Frank Wyso: Colors in Bloom showcases a different side of WYSO through a colorful array of his work inspired by flowers. Featured works include oil and acrylic paintings as well as pieces created using WYSO’s unique wax reduction technique.
The exhibition is made possible through a collaboration with the WYSO Foundation. Learn more about WYSO and the work of the WYSO Foundation at www.frankwyso.org.
