Notice: Reduced 2026 Schedule

Due to planned construction on the Glendon Hill Road Bridge, the National Canal Museum will operate on a shortened schedule this year. Our 2026 season will be open from Friday, March 27 through the end of May. Public canal boat rides will not be offered during the 2026 season.

Experience a Walking Tour of Hugh Moore Park’s Industrial Past

1pm on the last Sunday of the month

Explore Hugh Moore Park’s fascinating past as an industrial mecca in the 19th and early 20th centuries on a one and a half hour guided walking tour.  Learn about and view remnants of the once mighty industries that were located here including iron works, a wire factory, a cotton mill, and an ice cutting operation.  The walk is included with National Canal Museum admission or $5 without. Members are free.

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.  Tour will be cancelled for rain or other inclement weather.
