Veterans Get in FREE on July 4th

The mules like to show their patriotic side too!

The National Canal Museum is celebrating our nation’s independence by offering veterans free admission on the 4th of July.  As a Blue Star Museum, active military members and their families are already free throughout the summer.

By the way, Hugh Moore Park is a great place for a July 4th picnic.  There are picnic tables scattered throughout the park for your use.  For friends and family who aren’t into history, there’s plenty of other fun stuff in the park including the dog park, bike skills course, geocaches and even Pokemon!  If it’s a hot one, there’s a selection of cold drinks and ice cream in the Welcome Center to keep you cool.  Just no fireworks please – they scare the mules.
